a vengeanse softsynth would be awesome, but atm i'm mostly using Novation's V-Station and eMagic's ES2 as my main synths
EDIT: forgot audiorealism bassline, that synth kicks ass for an acid line
Vanguard
Pro-53
Kontakt
CamelSpace
CamelPhat
FM8
Waves Bundle
They all rock

FM8, i haven't had a play with that yet, how does it compare to the FM7?
i never used fm7. I've only become a fan of this recently.
But it's awesome. I always purchase plugins that have good sound quality reviews, i don't care if they a hard to use, not enough presets, gui, all that crap. At the end of the day, it's the quality that matters and these rock.
I really want to get absynth 4, i was a fan since absynth 1

absynth 1 was pretty cool actually, the envelope system was cool (they used in the FM7 too, that was fun)
My favourites:
Oddity
MS20
Polysix
Vanguard
Vstation is cool but not compatible with dualcore in FL Studio, + it generates a noise!
I didn't really get into Absynth to tell you the truth. I guess it just wasn't for me. I really want to check out FM8 though. It sounds awesome.
Vanguard is cool. So good for monster leads.
NI have the new Komplete out, with all new versions of their synths, check out the homepage, you can download a demo for fm8
Thanks for the tip Kaya. Will check it out for sure
You want Scot'bass?
Try the oddity(im 95% sure the bass from Cocaine remix comes from it) & the MS20 (terrible double filter)
i want scot bass!! i'll check it out

TIMEWARP 2600 is fantastic! very analogish and fat, but extremely complex with a lot of possibilities!!

sounds cool but wouldnt you rather make your own sound instead of sounding like other people? lol

yeah but it was when i try to experiment some bass sound, i found the cocaine bass sound, lot of portamento, noise, 2 saw (0 and +2 octave), some sidechaining, eq, compressor!

the lacks of this synth IMO:
mono & duo, no more polyphonie, no unison function, just 1 lfo, but the sound is awesome! massive bassline!

for basslines monophonic is the way to go ;) nice and pure
For sure. And this synth is perfect for phat basslines. Oh well gotta save those pennies for this.
does anyone use ableton? fruity loopz? all this software that u are talking about i have never heard of!

live and fl are sequencers
softsynths are instruments, most sequencers will allow you to use softsynths within their environment
for me
Korg Legacy
Discovery Nord Rack
Novation V Station
Even refx Vanguard (if used lightly as a layering synth)
Linplug Octopus
Rule :)
