Percussion tips plz!

Anyone got any good tips for hard and tech percussions?
I suck at percussion.

here's what i do , add a touch of plug in distortion, touch of delay, eq it for a extra bit of gritty sound :D Pitch shift em to were u like em to be, dont try to copy someone elses sound make ur own ;)
